Terms of Use
Last updated: 29 March 2026
Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using Foopy (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
Nature of the Service
Foopy aggregates publicly available food hygiene ratings from the Food Standards Agency (FSA) and customer review data from Google Maps Platform to produce a combined informational score (“Foopy Score”).
The Service is provided for informational purposes only. It is not a food safety inspection service, a regulatory body, or an endorsement of any restaurant. A high Foopy Score does not constitute a guarantee of hygiene standards, food quality, suitability for dining, or freedom from food safety risks.
Data accuracy and limitations
We make reasonable efforts to keep data accurate and current, but:
- Food hygiene ratings are sourced from the FSA database and reflect the outcome of the most recent inspection on record. They may not reflect subsequent improvements, deterioration, or changes in ownership.
- Inspections are conducted and recorded by local councils. Foopy has no control over the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of data held by the FSA or local authorities.
- Google Reviews are cached periodically and may not reflect the most current rating. Review counts and scores can change between our refresh cycles.
- The Foopy Score is a calculated metric derived from third-party data. It is subject to the limitations of those sources and our calculation methodology.
Always verify information directly with the Food Standards Agency and Google if you require up-to-date information.
No warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without any warranty of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Foopy and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special loss or damage of any kind arising from:
- Your use of, or inability to use, the Service
- Any reliance placed on data, scores, or information displayed on the Service
- Any food safety incident, illness, injury, or other harm arising from dining at a restaurant featured on the Service, regardless of its Foopy Score
- Inaccurate, outdated, or missing data from third-party sources
- Any decision made in reliance on information displayed on the Service
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.
Third-party data licences
Food hygiene rating data is sourced from the Food Standards Agency under the Open Government Licence v3.0. Foopy is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the Food Standards Agency.
Review data is sourced from Google Maps Platform. Foopy is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google.

You may not use the Service to:
- Scrape, copy, or republish data at scale without permission
